This girl loves her some spaghetti! I didn't realize how much she enjoyed it until tonight. She ate that stuff up. I love her spaghetti face.
The Simple Things

Gaylord Palms
Published by The Leakey Family under September 2008 on Sunday, September 21, 2008
About a month after Dan and I moved to Wauchula, we were invited to attend our church's annual marriage conference. We were thrilled to go and felt blessed to be able to go, but little did we know that we would become the grand prize winner of the event! We won a $300 gift certificate to the Gaylord Palms Hotel located in Orlando Florida! We finally had our chance to use it on Friday night. It was the first time we had Anna stay at someone's house overnight. But it was a much needed get-away, and we had a fabulous time!Gaylord Palms has several different themed hotels inside, an atrium, and restaurants and shopping! So much to do and see. We had booked our room in the Emerald Bay as a second choice being that the Everglades was not available. But when we checked in, we were given a free upgrade to a suite in the Everglades!

The living area.
The dining area. The doorway goes to the bedroom & bathroom. Here's the view from our balcony!

The Old Hickory Steakhouse, a fine dining restaurant where we had dinner Friday evening! It was delicious! Here's pics from dinner.

A stool for my purse!

The meal was a la carte and cooked to perfection! Dan and I have never really had dinner at a place this fancy before, but it was worth the experience and we have a great time together.
The next morning we had breakfast brought to our room!

After we had a delicious breakfast on our balcony we decided to take a full tour of the hotel and get some shots of the many spectacular things!
There are baby gators and turtles on the rock!

We had such an amazing time! If you ever have the opportunity to go and stay there, I highly recommend it. Thank you Darin & Jen for watching Anna. She had such a good time with you both :)

Update

Well, Dan had a really good quick trip to Ohio. He was a groomsman in John Piper's wedding, which went really well. And he really enjoyed catching up with friends from Fresno Bible Church. Although it would have been nice for him to have longer, he was glad to have the time he did have.
This past Saturday I woke up in a lot of pain with bad indigestion, which I've had a handful of times in the past 2 years, but this time it didn't go away. I ended up going into the ER, because I could hardly move, eat, or drink anything. Turns out I had a stomach ulcer. They gave me some pretty strong meds to take that pain away, which I was very thankful for. I'm feeling much better now, and I'm glad to know that this is something I'm always going to have to be careful with. Not how I planned my weekend to go, but glad it happened then and not a more in-opportune time.

Dan is flying to Ohio
Published by The Leakey Family under September 2008 on Friday, September 05, 2008
Please keep Dan in your prayers today as he flies up to Ohio. His flight leaves at 10 AM out of Orlando, he then switches in Atlanta, and arrives in Columbus at 2:15 PM. Tomorrow afternoon Dan will be a groomsman in John Piper's wedding, which is why he's making the trip back. I know he's really looking forward to seeing everyone, and he hopes to make the best of his quick trip. Thank you for your prayers.
Downtown Disney

We decided to go to Downtown Disney so Nathan & Anna could get a small glimpse of what Disney is like. An while we were there we met up with Ryan & Lydia Horsfall. They were vacationing in Florida so it was really nice being able to meet up for a nice visit. Here are a few of the pics I got before my camera's batteries died :(
We had a really good day over all. We didn't stay at Downtown Disney too long, it was getting very hot very quickly. And it was so nice catching up with Ryan & Lydia.
